One of the worst AdWords books ever written... Even the cover of the book contains typos - (Tutorial is written incorrectly). How did this pass Amazon's scrutiny?I've been working with AdWords professionally for over ten years now, I bought the book just because I decided to pick up some new AdWords books from Amazon. Trust me when I say that following the "advice" from this book will lose you a LOT of money.This book should not be on Amazon in my opinion and frankly I'm concerned with the author's credibility - not sure if he's ever ran a successful AdWords campaign. There are a lot of other authors which will serve you way better...
I’ll preface this by saying that I have no experience with Google Adwords at all. And it should be noted that those who buy this book will want to have a grasp on it if they want to effectively use the strategies in this.The strategies themselves, as far as I can tell, are pretty practical. Most of the book centers around keywords and using them in your ads. But it does go further, giving advice about testing different kinds of ads, how to target an audience who will buy your product, and how to rank higher in Google’s ads. It mostly sounds like good business sense and seems like an implementation of normal marketing advice for the internet.I say “mostly†because there was at least one instance where I was dubious of the ethics of a piece of advice. Those who know more about marketing might say otherwise. I don’t know. I’m just going by gut feeling. A couple of the links for priced keyword finding tools are questionable, but I didn’t examine them in-depth too much. So they could be harmless. Either way, there’s plenty of free tools to use. Therefore, you don’t have to make use of those few priced ones anyway.Overall, those couple of problems— if they are problems— are enough to take it down half a star for me, but I can only round up anyway. After I finished the book, I felt like I had a better handle of Adwords and its keyword usage if I were to ever pursue it. I believe this would mostly appeal to those new to Adwords and/or anyone who is looking for advice to make better use of their keywords. Like I said, some experience with Adwords is helpful and this book won’t cover a lot with the actual ad writing. You’ll have to do that on your own. But when it comes to keywords, it appears to cover most, if not all, of the bases.
Wow. I can't believe Amazon lets this leave their doors. The book (and more so the video) are nothing but bullet points, fluff and non-actionable non-information. You can learn the same thing (actually a lot more) by using Googles online (FREE!) help. If you are serious about learning in-depth Google AdWords, look for a professional book written by a professional. This is a circus sideshow that is worth exactly what it costs.
Great book with some great tips and techniques.
Covers all the basics and is great for a quick review. Not sure what the secrets were but that's al relative.
Excellent book and a clear guide to master Adwords!
This book is super easy to understand. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Youll be able to come away with tons of highly specific tips to implement accross all areas of your Adwords strategy.
